We’re thrilled to announce that NTM Info & Research (NTMir) has been honored with the Best Media Relations Campaign award at the 2025 Association Insights CommImpact Awards for our World NTM Awareness Day initiative!
Presented by OnWrd & UpWrd, the CommImpact Awards celebrate exceptional achievements in association communications, storytelling, and advocacy across North America. This recognition highlights our team’s efforts to elevate NTM lung disease—one of the world’s most underrecognized respiratory diseases—into the global spotlight through powerful strategic storytelling.
Bringing the Patient Voice to the World
“This recognition is a testament to our team’s dedication, creativity, and commitment to serving our community,” said Amy Leitman, President of NTMir.
“Our work on World NTM Awareness Day reflects our mission to shine a light on this growing threat to global respiratory health, and we are honored to be acknowledged among such impactful organizations.”
The 2025 World NTM Awareness Day campaign, themed “Recognize. Respond. Rise Together.”, achieved remarkable reach and impact:
-
National media coverage including a USA Today contributor article
-
Nearly 200 million impressions through a satellite media tour across nearly 700 broadcast, digital, and global partner networks
-
Expanded awareness across 25 countries worldwide
Judges noted how the campaign “really humanized the patient journey,” demonstrating the power of authentic storytelling in health advocacy.
This year’s campaign also amplified awareness of disseminated and extrapulmonary NTM disease—another underrecognized threat that deserves global attention.
A Collaborative Success
This achievement would not have been possible without the tremendous support of our 15 global advocacy partners and seven corporate partners:
Insmed Inc.
MannKind Corporation
Boehringer Ingelheim
Maxor Specialty Pharmacy
PantherX Rare Specialty Pharmacy
Paratek Pharmaceuticals
ICU Medical
We are proud to stand alongside seven other outstanding organizations recognized this year, including the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).
Our Mission Continues
As we celebrate this honor, we remain deeply committed to our mission: promoting early diagnosis, supporting improved treatments, and accelerating critical research for NTM disease.
This award reinforces the urgency and importance of our work—and motivates us to continue advocating for patients, educating providers, and advancing science.
Thank you to everyone in our community—patients, families, providers, researchers, and partners—who makes progress possible. Together, we are making a difference.
