I have been all over the net trying to find an all metal showerhead. I have seen the tiny chrome ones from Home Depot. But, I wanted a nicer/larger one. Preferably a brushed nickel one if possible. Anyway, I have seen some that say all metal or 100% metal but they have little rubber nubs where the water comes out. Can anyone tell me if this rubber is bad? I know plastic is bad. Thanks so much!

as I understand it, you want a shower head with large holes…the larger the better. See YouTube videos by Dr. Joe Falkinham from Virginia Tech. You also want to avoid (as much as possible) prolonged inhalation of the shower humidity….I leave the bathroom door open and take a quick shower…

I’ve looked at the shower clear shower heads and they are nearly $500 CAD. Has anyone used them and are they worth the money? I’m happy to buy one if they really make showers safe but haven’t seen any reviews (except criticism of Goop, where Gwynnyth Paltrow sells them).
Does anyone have any other suggestions for shower heads or are these really worth it?
    Thanks!

I am Steve Sunshine fro Shower Clear and happy to answer any questions. I am an Automotive engineer who developed when my mother took ill from her Shower Head. I fix things that most have no idea are broken. I didn’t have a desire to be in the plumbing industry until I saw a need and a solution. The Shower Clear unit is 3.5 lbs of solid brass so, it will probably last forever. I have not had one return in the thousands sold. The recent study by University of Colorado tested over 600 Shower Heads and Shower Clear was the only one named in the Study. The Industry has been covering up the problem with traditional Shower Heads since 1981. And just a few days ago, Inside Edition had a segment that identified NTM and other harmful bacteria, mycobacterium and mold, that get airborne in a steamy shower. Their solution? Take your shower head off once a month and dunk it in bleach. Well, that doesn’t work for several reasons. 1-Bleach is Poison. 2-Bleach does not kill the bacteria hence, the once a month ritual. 3-No one will do it and most of all, you cannot see inside before during or after. We have been featured on Oprah, This Old House, Men’s Health, The Today Show, Goop and many more. I will be on a prime time Medical Segment in the next few months that will get the message across. visit our website at shopshowerclear.com

Metal shower heads are not difficult to find. The problem is that you should consider a good shower head, such as a quality water softener shower head. The reason I know this soft water shower head is recommended by my hairdresser, it can make the water softer. I checked and tried this. I like the feeling of water in the shower. It makes me more comfortable than before and my hair becomes softer and smoother.

If you are healthy and not concerned with NTM and the 49 other mycobacterium that culminate in an enclosed Shower Head, then yes, use any shower head that makes you feel good. Being metal is net zero regarding NTM. You will never know what’s inside. That’s why The University of Colorado tested over 560 Shower Heads with an unprecedented amount of peer review.
