Found out today and they took me off the oral antibiotics 3 med regimen. My doc is calling UT in Tyler to get more information. I’m really starting to freak. Any suggestions?

AFAIK it might be something new found in sputum. In my case MAC was found also in a couple of occasion so far (3 years) with regularly M. kansasii. But it is not the MAC is morphing, it must be you acquired a new one and I guess they want to check the extent of infection to modulated the therapeutic AB approach as the two are distinct (slowly vs fast growing?) and they need to test AB sensitivity. There are hundreds of difference species of NTM in the environment. Just curious: have you changed something in your life style (waters, showers, hot tubs, hotels, soils activity etc …) which might potentially be an explication. Did Tyler asked about this? They should I guess.
    Good luck, let us know!
