Although I’ve not had a problem with hair loss, I can tell you that many, many women in “our” age group experience hair loss. People who take antidepressants frequently have hair problems (hair is lifeless and sometimes thins), and there are other meds and health issues that cause hair problems that I often see at my work as a hairstylist. Meds and health problems which affect the porosity and general quality of hair can also affect the outcome of chemical services, such as colors and perms. It is very common for menopausal or post menopausal women to experience thinning hair, particularly on top. I always suggest to my clients that they consult a dermatologist if they are worried or it is severe.
