Kay, just a comment here. I had the picc for18 months, no problems with the exception of one of the stitches coming loose and I had a local surgeon just restitch in 5 minutes. Did all my iv’ing myself – no experience whatsoever in any kind of medical procedures – and felt pretty good thruout. I played golf, worked out in the gym, did all my normal activities according to my energy level that day. The only thing I had to cut back on was my overnight excursions due to having to travel with all my medical equipment. I remember we had to evacuate our home due to a hurrcane a couple of years ago. Here I was, sitting in my hotel room by the window iv’ing while watching the storm rage outside. Kind of made me think of a similiar storm raging within my body. Corny, huh?
