Chris,
Sorry to hear of all the difficulties that you are going through. Hope things improve. When I saw your comment about red hair and sensitivity to things, I couldn’t help but write to tell you about my husband. He has red hair (or had, now it’s almost white)and he has skin sensitivity problems. He also has been told that he is not the “typical” (if there is such a thing) MAC patient. His CTs show significant nodules and bronchiectases in both left and right lobes and his cultures are positive for MAI (this has been the case for over three years now). He feels fine other than fatigue. He has 100% oxygen levels and full lung capacity like you. We just returned from NIH where they determined that his drug regimen of rifampin, clarithromycin, ethambutol and avelox are the right mix and should be continued. I’m sure that you would, indeed, make a good subject so hopefully some time in the future you will be able to be part of the NIH study.Take care and stay well.
Laura
