No not SS disability, instead the short-term disability for a trip to national jewish. In order to qualify for medical leave of abscence and disability pay, my employer required a dr to fill out the certification that says why I can’t work for that period, which dates, and when I am expected to be able to return to work. My employer then allows me to take the medical leave and they pay part of my check from their short-term disability fund. (but am also required to apply for State Disability short-term, then they subtract whatever amt. the State pays me, from what my employer pays me for disability. My own doctors didn’t want to do it, they felt NJC should do it since they are the ones treating me.
