When to Test for NTM

Consider testing a patient for pulmonary NTM disease when the patient has more than one lower respiratory infection in the prior 12 months, as well as when the patient exhibits symptoms such as a cough (productive or non-productive), night sweats, fever, loss of weight and loss of appetite, or lack of energy; or when a CT scan reveals an NTM infection pattern.
